Do I need an appointment for Florida Lottery Office? ›

To redeem a prize of $600 or more, the prizewinner must complete a winner claim form. Prizes from $600 up to $1,000,000 can be claimed in-person or by appointment at any Lottery District Office.

If a parent owes past-due child support and/or past-due costs and wins a Florida lottery prize of $600 or more, the past-due amount and costs may be taken from the lottery winnings.

In person. May be claimed at any authorized Florida Lottery retailer or Florida Lottery District Office. May be claimed in-person via walk-in or by appointment at any Florida Lottery District Office for games that do not offer an annual payment option.

To claim any prize in a second chance drawing, the prizewinner must submit to the Florida Lottery the original valid non-winning X Multiplier family Scratch-Off ticket bearing the ticket number selected in the drawing. Without such ticket, the prizewinner will forfeit his or her right to claim a prize.

Only a few states — California, New Hampshire, Florida, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming — do not impose a state tax on lottery winnings.

If the prize is less than $250,000, the player may receive the prize payment, less taxes when applicable, the same business day. If the prize amount is over $250,000, the prize payout, less taxes, will be ACH transferred to the winner's bank account within two business days in most instances.

In some states, it depends on how much money you win. Those who win $250,000 or more in Florida are temporarily exempt from public disclosure for 90 days after claiming their prize, according to the state's lottery. Winners of $600 or more are kept confidential for 90 days in Arizona as well.

The Florida Lottery's Claims Processing Office will attempt to notify the prize winners not later than one business day after the prizewinners are posted on the Florida Lottery's website. If you have not yet been contacted and would like to claim your prize, please call (850) 487-7707.

Can you buy Florida Lottery tickets online? ›

No. The Florida Lottery does not offer the sale of Lottery tickets by mail, fax, or via the Internet, nor do we currently offer a subscription service. Tickets must be purchased from any of the more than 13,000 authorized Florida Lottery retailers in the state of Florida.

However, appointing another individual will protect your privacy. You will then name beneficiaries to the trust, which may be your family members or just yourself. Lottery winners often set up individual trusts for each family member. A lottery winner can also set up charitable or other types of trusts.

If you chose to pick up your first Lottery payment from a California Lottery District Office, your first Lottery prize payment will be available for pickup within six to eight weeks of your claim. Future payments can be mailed directly to your home address or to your financial institution for deposit into your account.

The odds of winning the lottery will stay the same regardless of whether you use Quick Pick or not. If there were a clear-cut edge provided by one, then it wouldn't even be a question about which one to use.

Drawing results are available on this website, at authorized Florida Lottery retailers and at (850) 921-PLAY (7529). Drawings are held Tuesday and Friday nights at 11:00 p.m., Eastern Time. Tickets may be purchased until 10:00 p.m., Eastern Time, on the night of the drawing.

A completed Florida Lottery winner claim form is necessary to process winning tickets valued at $600 or greater. This form can be found at www.flalottery.com, Lottery district offices, and most Lottery retail locations.

Players may pick six numbers from two separate pools of numbers - five different numbers from 1 to 70 (the white balls) and one number from 1 to 25 (the gold Mega Ball) - or select Easy Pick/Quick Pick. You win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in a drawing.
